Electric and autonomous driving cars are becoming more and more interesting day by day. For a long time, it was stated that Tesla was working on a fully driverless taxi vehicle. The event, whose date was announced recently, finally took place. As expected at the ‘We, Robot’ event organised by Tesla, Tesla’s driverless taxi vehicle Robotaxi was announced under the name Cybercab. However, in addition to this vehicle, Tesla also announced the minibus called Tesla Robovan with an unexpected surprise. Here are the details
Tesla Robovan costing 5-10 cents per mile
With the statements made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a new electric vehicle with fully autonomous driving support and without a driver was finally introduced. Tesla Robovan, announced as a surprise after Tesla Cybercab, was announced as a minibus and one of its most striking features was its very low fuel consumption.
Although no clear statements have yet been made by Elon Musk, he announced that Robovan, which is envisaged to be a solution in cities with high density population, will also be quite affordable in transport costs. Stating that it will cost 5-10 cents per mile as an estimate, the CEO announced that Robovan can carry up to 20 people.
In terms of design, it was seen that the vehicle, which has the space design we are accustomed to from Tesla, is not similar to those on the market. When we look at the images, it is seen that the vehicle, which has not yet entered mass production, offers a very large space inside, and it is said that it can be used not only for passenger transport but also for carrying goods and cargo.
Tesla Robovan, which does not give information about the production date or price, seems to be able to play a very important role in urban transport and will also heat up the competition among electric minibuses. Here is the Tesla Robovan design:
